Well, in short the song tells us about the struggle to pursue the dreams. This is shown in the opening line sung in a high pitch by singers (Eminem,Royce Da 5’9′ and Bruno Mars), ‘this one’s for you and me, living out our dreams’. The meaning of this line is literal and hence reveals itself, namely the song they are singing is dedicated to them who have big dreams and struggle to pursue the dreams. The next line “we’re all right where we should be” functions as the condition to the previous line. In other words, what these two lines want to say is as follow: everyone must have their own dreams, but it’s only those struggling to pursue their dreams who will finally get to where they want.

Here, we can also learn a simple grammar rule ‘adverb clause’. An adverb clause is a group of words that function as an adverb in a sentence. Adverb clauses can be used to add explanatory detail to your writing and explain how or why things happen. To identify adverb clauses, you’ll need to understand what an adverb does as well as how a clause is formed. It is also known as adverbial clauses as dependent clauses that function as adverbs. This means that adverb clauses have a subject and a verb and serve the purpose of describing an adjective, a verb or another adverb.

Since adverb clauses are dependent clauses, they must have a subordinating conjunction that connects them to the rest of the sentence. Being able to spot a subordinating conjunction will help you recognize an adverb clause. Several examples of subordinating conjunctions are listed below in form of ‘question word’:

  • I wanna just say thanks cause your hate is what gave me the strength.
  • Tell him how real he is or how high I am.
  • I’ll stop when I’m at the very top.
  • You and I know what it’s like to be kicked down.
  • We’re all right where we should be.

Simple trick to distinguish between question word as adverbial clauses and question form is from the structure of sentence.

  • I’ll stop when I’m at the very top.
  • When am I at the very top?
