Do we realize that science is more valuable than wealth? With the abundance of wealth will undoubtedly make us feel anxious for fear of losing it. Unlike with the knowledge that is able to protect us and can bring good blessings both in the world and in the hereafter.
However, the knowledge can be disrupted if we have fallen asleep with immorality. Then the immoral is covering our hearts so that we are also difficult to do obedience, lazy to worship, it is also difficult in memorizing the Qur’an and memorizing other sciences.
Imam As Syafi’i once said:
شَكَوْت إلَى وَكِيعٍ سُوءَ حِفْظِي فَأَرْشَدَنِي إلَى تَرْكِ الْمَعَاصِي وَأَخْبَرَنِي بِأَنَّ الْعِلْمَ نُورٌ وَنُورُ اللَّهِ لَا يُهْدَى لِعَاصِي
“I once told Waki about the ugliness of my memorization. Then he appointed me to leave immorality. He told me that knowledge is the light and the light of Allah is impossible to give to the one who are immoral.”
