Listen to the lyric and find -ing form:

Tell me something, girl
Are you happy in this modern world?
Or do you need more?
Is there something else you’re searching for?

I’m falling
In all the good times, I find myself longing for change
And in the bad times, I fear myself

Tell me something, boy
Aren’t you tired trying to fill that void?
Or do you need more?

Ain’t it hard keeping it so hardcore?

Which one is a Gerund or a continuous tense/progressive tense ?

Simple thing you should know that the meanings of both are active meaning in our bahasa (me- or ber-). And the very easy way to distinguish them is from the formula in a sentence. Have a look here:

Progressive tenses are formed with to be and the infinitive + -ing. ( sedang me- baca)

  • He is reading a book. (Present Progressive)
  • He was reading a book. (Past Progressive)
  • He has been reading a book for three hours. (Present Perfect Progressive)
  • He had been reading a book before Mary came in. (Past Perfect Progressive)
  • He will be reading a book when I get home. (Future Progressive)
  • He will have been reading a book. (Future Perfect Progressive)
  • He would be reading a book if he had time. (Condition Progressive)
  • He would have been reading a book if he had had time. (Conditional Perfect Progressive)

The Gerund is formed only with infinitive + -ing. (me- baca)

  • Reading books is great fun.
  • He likes reading books.
  • He is looking forward to reading books on Sunday.
  • He is keen on reading books.
  • He is used to reading books.
  • What about reading books?
  • He likes the idea of reading books.
  • After reading the book, he went to bed.
